Here, we are passionate about providing rich musical experiences for students of all ages and abilities.

Week after week, our mission is simple: to ensure that every student

learns something exciting,

accomplishes something hard,

plays/sings something beautiful

— and has a good laugh.

This, we believe, is the stuff of life and music.

Owner and instructor, Kelsey, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. She spent several years teaching  general music (PreK-5th grade) and chorus (6th-12th grade), and directing an adult church choir before opening the studio in 2011. Her specialty is Italian art song, although she finds joy and meaning in just about every kind of music that exists.

Kelsey particularly enjoys teaching classical voice,  adult voice, and beginning piano, and LOVES middle schoolers and summer camp! Most of her favorite teaching moments include vulnerability from both sides of the bench, and she believes firmly that in music, heart matters more than most else. She loves finding new ways to drive home old concepts, and finds great  joy in being an innovative, creative teacher.

Kelsey makes her home in the West End of Richmond with her realtor husband, Drew, and their two young children. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys reading, exercise, peace and quiet, plain black coffee, lots of music, and chasing her kids all over Richmond.

Lydia Delk graduated from Randolph Macon with a major in Business and Economics and a minor in Music. She spends her days as an executive assistant with Fauver Group Real Estate and is so thrilled to be teaching with Harrell Music part time! She’s been playing piano for over 15 years and has been teaching in some capacity for almost ten.

She has had deeply impactful music mentors over the years who have instilled a life-long love of music and shaped her into the woman she is today. It is her hope that she will make the same impact on her students. She strongly believes that every student is unique, and one of her favorite parts of teaching is tailoring each lesson to create a captivating music education for each one! She strives to ensure that her lessons and teaching style are colored with creativity, delight, and stubborn gladness.

In her spare time she enjoys journaling, painting with watercolors, and exploring Richmond. One of her personal heroes is Julie Andrews – especially in the role of Maria von Trapp. She loves dreamy porches, Barnes and Noble, and coffee.
